After your apprenticeship

The AMTC will support you throughout your apprenticeship, preparing you to enter the world of engineering and advanced manufacturing.

Upon successful completion of your apprenticeship your employer will discuss with you your future progression.

Higher National Certificate, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (2 year duration)

A Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is a possible next step on from your apprenticeship. It offers additional vocational training that is highly valued by employers.

Higher Apprenticeships (HND and Degree)

After completing your Advanced Apprenticeship you can progress to a Higher Apprenticeship. This involves studying for a Level 4-7 engineering qualification such as Foundation Degree, Higher National Diploma (HND) or Degree while improving your skills through on the job training. The AMTC offer a BEng Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship available to anyone who have completed a Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Engineering and meets our entry assessment..

EngTech Professional Registration

Completing your Advanced Apprenticeship with the AMTC enables you to apply for Engineering Technician registration (EngTech) status through one of the engineering institutions, such as the Institution of Mechanical Engineers or the Institution of Engineering & Technology. EngTech is a professional title that matches UK Standard for Professional Engineering Competence (UK-SPEC). Having the EngTech title after your name is an official recognition of expertise that will enhance that your career prospects and earning potential in engineering. For more information click here.
