Apprentice Sales Engineer
Schneider Electric (https://www.se.com/uk/en/) provide energy and automation digital solutions for efficiency and sustainability. They empower all to make the most of their energy and resources and have experienced double digit growth in the last 2 years. With plans across the business to maximise business growth via Industrial Automation, software and services, plus growth via SMART factory/machine, they are now looking for two Apprentice Sales Engineers to help them in their mission.
Schneider Electric believe that apprentices are the future of their business and are looking for individuals who can bring new ideas and challenge the status quo. You will be part of the new intake of Early Talent which the company believe is needed in order for them to flourish and keep up with the changing demands of consumers. They are looking to provide on-the-job training and a learning path that will afford the successful candidates learning and development opportunities, including exposure to customer meetings, with support and training from the sales team.
When you begin your apprenticeship, you will initially be meeting the teams at the Coventry site, including the Management Team, Sales and Technical Teams, Inside Sales, TBO, Customer Care, and Product Managers. A typical day would involve working closely with a team member on a project, customer or opportunity and shadowing the Sales and Technical Teams during customer meetings/visits, alongside digital learning or on-site training at the AMTC. In the office you could be at your desk or working in the lab working on activities such as (but not limited to) training, developing system architectures or preparing a customer proposal. You will be showing customers around the innovation hub and presenting the technical and/or commercial value proposition of the Schneider products, software and services on offer. When visiting a customer site, you could be participating in a customer meeting, a sales or technical presentation, or supporting a Schneider engineer commissioning a machine on their shop floor.
The first year of training will be on-site full time at the Advanced Manufacturing Training Centre (AMTC).
Your job will be based at the Schneider Electric Facility in Coventry following the first year of off-the-job training (Schneider Electric, University of Warwick, Science Park, Sir William Lyons Road, Coventry, CV4 7EZ).
On successful completion of the apprenticeship, there may be opportunities to join the business permanently (at the discretion of the team and subject to suitable roles being available at that time).
37.5 hours per week
Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience
You will have achieved a minimum of 5 GCSE’s at grade 4 or above, including Maths, English and a STEM related subject.
You will be able to demonstrate enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.
You must be self-motivated, resourceful, flexible, results-driven and customer focused. You must also be able to display passion, enthusiasm, team spirit, determination and innovation in the role.
You must also have effective communication and interpersonal skills: you should be an open and honest communicator, communicating clearly using appropriate methods, listening to others and possess a positive and respectful attitude.
Finally, you must be interested in continuous personal development: you should have a desire to reflect on skills, knowledge and behaviours and seek opportunities to develop; adapt to different situations, environments or technologies; and have a positive attitude to feedback and advice.
