    Job Description

Camloc is a friendly, welcoming and forward thinking company who place a strong emphasis on quality and customer satisfaction alongside the technical skills they are renowned for. The company has evolved considerably over the last 2 years, with significant investment in plant and equipment, facilities, and people in order to grow and equip the company as a world leader in gas strut and damper technology. They are looking to continue this growth with further investment in new technologies, people and processes in the future.

After joining Camloc the successful candidate will begin to learn in depth all the production processes the company use. At first this will be under the supervision of an experienced operator, then as their skills and confidence improve this will be on their own. There are a wide range of processes involved in taking products from raw materials to finished goods including CNC cutting, grinding, CNC turning, assembly, painting and gassing.

This is an extremely varied role and no two days would be the same. Camloc are looking for an apprentice to learn and become competent in all aspects of the manufacturing process. This will include not only the manufacturing processes themselves but also fault finding, improvement activities and tooling manufacture. You will be exposed to a wide range of people, skills and experiences; from time-served engineers to college graduates, the Camloc team has experience of different businesses and sectors, and the skills that can be learnt are limited only by the candidate themselves.

The first year of training will be on-site full time at the Advanced Manufacturing Training Centre (AMTC). Candidates will need to be able to make their own way to and from the centre, as well as Camloc’s base in Leicester (Camloc Motion Control, 15 New Star Road, Leicester, LE4 9JD).

Camloc intend to give the right candidate the opportunity to progress with the company and will invest a great deal of time and effort to support their new apprentice. Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, and provided a suitable vacancy is available, this will develop into a multi-skilled production operative role. Depending on the aspirations of the individual this could develop in numerous ways, whether this be as a process specialist, team leader, manufacturing engineering or management role.
