OAS - MTC Training

Housed on the UKAEA’s Culham Science Centre, OAS boasts world-class learning facilities which house some of the UK’s most advanced equipment, covering a wide range of engineering and technology disciplines.

Run in conjunction with MTC Training, the OAS centre replicates the work being done at the Advanced Manufacturing Training Centre in upskilling workers of all ages and levels in new technology.

Located with easy access to the M40 and A34 if travelling by car, there is ample on-site parking for all visitors. Culham station is a short walk away which is serviced by trains from London Paddington and Banbury.

HNC’s

The nationally recognised HNC provides participants with specialised knowledge and skills essential for career advancement. Whether employees choose the General Engineering or the Electrical and Electronic Engineering pathway, both options offer valuable expertise in their respective fields.

This 2 year programme uses a block release model covering skills such as design, manufacture, maintenance, and mechanical and electronic engineering. The knowledge gained can be applied across a range of manufacturing industries, including high volume manufacturing and electronic engineering.

Apprenticeships

Level 3 Engineering Technician Standard Apprenticeship

This newly-developed ‘standards-based’ apprenticeship has been designed with employers, for use with new recruits (or existing staff) who wish to gain the technical and practical knowledge required to work within the engineering sector.

During the 4 year programme, apprentices learn the essential skills to design new products and work in development teams using cutting-edge technology in CAD programming, 3D printing, machine manufacturing, air logic systems, PLC and robotic systems – all in a safe and supportive environment.

This qualification is an Advanced Apprenticeship or ‘Level 3’ apprenticeship that provides progression routes onto higher level engineering qualifications.

Level 4 Advanced Engineering Manufacturing Technician Apprenticeship

The 30 month Level 4 Advanced Manufacturing Technician Apprenticeship is designed to develop learners who are looking to progress to a higher-level technical role, which could lead to future progression into leadership roles.

During the program, apprentices explore the integrated nature of engineering, including design, manufacture, maintenance, mechanical and electronic engineering,

The 30 month block release programme gives employees the flexibility to complete their qualification alongside their day-to-day role.

Level 4 Automation & Controls Apprenticeship

The 48 month Level 4 Automation & Controls Apprenticeship is perfect for employees who are looking to progress in the automation sector, learning from experts in the field.

During the programme, learners gain the necessary skills and knowledge to advance in a variety of industries, from automotive and pharmaceutical to logistics and nuclear.

Level 4 Space Technician Apprenticeship

Our innovative new 48 month Level 4 Space Technician Apprenticeship is a fantastic opportunity for employees to get started in the space industry, learning from sector experts and gaining an industry-recognised qualification.

Throughout the 48 month programme, learners develop their problem solving abilities as well as the necessary theoretical and practical skills that are required to excel within the fast-growing space industry.
