Essential Requirements Capture for Additive Manufacturing

This online course will provide engineers with a clear process to ensure that they capture all requirements for a particular AM part or assembly such that it can be designed and made to match the client’s needs.

Design for Metal Powder Bed Fusion

Using a mix of interactive videos featuring experts from within the Design for Additive Manufacture team from the National Centre for Additive Manufacturing (NCAM), online discussions, software simulations and self-paced activities, this online course will provide you with the necessary skills and knowledge that you need to be able to exploit the design freedom of additive manufacturing.

It will take you through the stages needed, from conception to the design of a component using best practice methods and appropriate software, to ensure that your component is optimised for function and manufacturing via metal powder bed fusion additive methods.

Design Rules for Electron Beam Powder Bed Fusion

Upon completion of this course you will be able to prepare a model fit for submission to a bureau to be manufactured using Electron Beam Powder Bed Fusion.

Developing the Business Case for Additive Manufacturing Adoption

This course will enable you to develop a business case for using AM for a selected application. You will gain skills in using a process-based approach to: define the costs for each production step; consider the opportunities and benefits of AM for the selected component; and develop a recommendation based on a quantified value of AM to the business and end user.

Design for Manufacture & Assembly for Construction

Delivered by our experts, this course aims to help you understand the unique opportunities available to you through Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA) as well as considering the benefits and challenges which come with introducing DfMA into your business.
